Scan and Save as PDF or images with profiles, using NAPS2

NAPS2 is a free and clean program that will let you scan easily your documents from WIA- and TWAIN-compatible scanners, organize the pages as you like, and save them as PDF, TIFF, JPEG, PNG, and other file formats.

You can order the pages however you like, even using tools to interleave duplex pages. Rotate pages at right angles, or straighten them at any angle. Use image editing tools to crop or change brightness and contrast.

Search through text included in your PDFs by using optical character recognition (OCR), in any of over 100 languages. Note that OCR works for easy location of sections in a document, not for saving in txt, rtf or similar (text) formats.
