Charging can be by default the only task performed when you connect your phone to a PC, but if you drag to see details about your connection you are presented with the option of using the same USB connection for managing files. Selecting this option the phone immediately appears on Windows Explorer and you can transfer files to or from your PC, transfer photos, etc.
