If VLC volume stops at 125% instead of 200%

VLC offers a nice gradient at the right bottom corner letting users change the volume with the mouse. If you find this gradient stopping at a volume level of 125%, although your are still able to go up to 200% using the Ctrl+UpArrow keyboard shortcut, don’t worry.

Enter the VLC preferences, go to the advanced settings (All), then to Interface > Main Interfaces > Qt and at the very last line (right pane) select a level above 125 at the Maximum Volume Displayed option.

The “Displayed” volume can go up to 300, but the keyboard hotkey is limited to 200%.

* Don’t miss VLC Untied, a free program that lets you select one or more files or folders in Windows Explorer and load them to VLC media player instantly using a keyboard shortcut, even removing completely any files that may be already loaded and playing.
