If you want to prevent the “Shortcut” prefix from being added to new shortcuts, just create and rename a shortcut to any file 5 times, each time removing the annoying prefix.
The sixth shortcut, and any other shortcut, will be created without the prefix.
On Windows 10, go to HKEY_CURRENT_USER\SOFTWARE\Microsoft\Windows\CurrentVersion\Explorer,
double click the binary value named “link”, and replace 15 with 00
Enjoy!
