If MS Word suppresses blank space of headings at the top of the page

As you may know, Word suppresses blank space above headings whether you want it or not, if this space belongs to a heading that happens to appear at the top of the page.

If you want a heading to keep some distance from the previous paragraph, even from the document’s header, there is a way to solve this problem and prevent Word from suppressing this space before your heading at the top of the page.

Modify the style of your heading and change the frame option, to insert a frame (no wrap). You don’t need to change any other frame options, just press OK to insert the frame.

Word adds automatically inside the frame the “space before” you have configured for the heading’s paragraph style, and it now keeps this space even at the top of the page.

Enjoy!
