System Care Antivirus is a malware that will close all your running applications and present you messages saying that you are infected and asking for money in order to remove supposed infections. System Care Antivirus won’t let you start any programs that would help you remove it, however you can do it by yourself easily, without opening or installing any program at all.

You need to know how to open your startup folders, because System Care Antivirus places itself there in order to start when you boot your PC. First delete its shortcut from the StartUp folder where it is located, usually the StartUp folder for all users — then restart your PC.

After your PC is restarted go to C:\ProgramData and remove the folder that is named with a long series of numbers, containing also an executable named with a long series of numbers. Then open the Preferences of your browser and empty its cache, because System Care Antivirus is first downloaded to your browser’s temporary folders.

You are now free, until the next time you are infected. Please note the locations of your startup folders, your personal one, which is

C:\Users\YourPCname\AppData\Roaming\Microsoft\Windows\Start Menu\Programs\Startup

and that for all users, where System Care Antivirus creates its shortcut:

C:\ProgramData\Microsoft\Windows\Start Menu\Programs\StartUp
