You may be annoyed by this yellow bar at the top of BitTorrent, inviting you to download a featured torrent and refusing to close when you press the x button.

As the author of the program informs, in a forthcoming version we will be able to remove the featured torrents yellow bar by going to the Advanced Preferences, locating a “content_offer_url” option, and setting it to “0” (numerical zero).

Before this option is available you can remove the offending “featured torrent” this easy way:

1. Start to download the “featured torrent” — 2. Select it in the list of your current downloads and delete it — 3. Press the x button in the yellow “featured torrents” bar (it is now activated and works), to close the bar.
