OpenOffice free MS Office alternative for text processing, spreadsheets, presentations, painting, db editing and more

OpenOffice is an attempt for a complete replacement of MS Office.

In my opinion, it can be named “the poor relative”, although OpenOffice.org presents dithyrambic reviews that claim the opposite. Since it is free, you can just try it and decide by yourself to uninstall or keep using it.

It includes the following applications — Writer : a word processor, Calc : a spreadsheet, Impress : for multimedia presentations, Draw : From simple diagrams to 3D illustrations, Base : Database.

Create and modify tables, forms, queries, and reports, Math : lets you create mathematical equations with a graphic user interface or by directly typing your formulas into the equation editor.
