Search in Windows Explorer only for folders, not for files

By default searching in Windows Explorer will give a list of files and folders. If you are after folders only, you can speed up your search and get clearer results by defining a filter.

Press, as usually, F3 or click inside the search box at the right top corner of Windows Explorer.

Do not write only the name of the folder you are going to search for. First define your filter, write

kind:folders

leave an empty space and write your keyword, e.g.

kind:folders winter

Windows Explorer will search for all folders containing winter in their name – skipping all ‘winter’ files. Enjoy!
