Create the sense of a movie theater in Chrome, with Turn Off the Lights

If you are after creating a more cinematic experience when you watch a video on line, e.g. on YouTube, but also on Vimeo, Dailymotion, etc., this Chrome extension will help a lot.

The app will let you have in Chrome an icon that darkens a page’s background giving all emphasis to the video part. Restoring normal page view is equally easy, by just pressing again the same icon, or a shortcut key.

Turn Of the Lights also lets you customize your YouTube easily, to set videos in HD mode automatically (highres > 8K > 5K > 4K > 1080p > 720p > 480p > 360p > 240p > 144p > default), make your videos automatically play as wide as possible, and more.

Several goodies are available, e.g. press the T shortcut to enjoy instantly a real movie theatre feeling, or activate an option to make the screen dark when you click on the play button, etc. The program includes a lot of options that you don’t want to miss if you use to watch videos online.
