Delete the currently active Word document immediately

Sometimes I create a new Word document which I don’t need after I finish my text. To delete this document I have to open in Windows Explorer the location where I saved it, or close it and follow the Word native command to open a document, and locate my file in Word’s (instance of Windows) Explorer.

In case that this procedure occurs rather often, a better solution would be to have a macro that immediately closes and deletes your active document.

You can download from this page this macro by A. Wyatt that  deletes the currently active document permanently! Take care though, when you receive the prompt to delete the currently open document you are warned that it won’t be recycled, you won’t have a chance again to see your file!

Read this post if you are not familiar with importing MS Word macros using .bas files.
