If Microsoft Word crashes giving the message

“Unhandled exception at 0x775CE3DA (ntdll.dll) in WINWORD.EXE: 0xC0000374: A heap has been corrupted (parameters: 0x775FFBB0)”

you may have been trying to close a document without saving it. This Word crash happens upon the attempt of Word to create an automatic recovery document. To solve this problem try disabling the automatic creation of recovery documents upon closing.

Go to Word Options, then to the “Save” section, and uncheck the option “keep the last autosaved version if I close without saving.”
