Correct VLC distorted (wider) aspect ratio
In some screens, especially TV screens, you may find that VLC fails to display automatically the correct aspect ratio ending to a picture that makes objects wider.
There is no automatic way to correct this, but the manual one is fast and easy. Go to VLC preferences > Video > Force Aspect Ratio, and write 16:10 or even 16:11.
This aspect ratio (instead of the usual 16:9) will give you “thinner” objects, amending the problem of your monitor.
