File Converter is a simple, efficient and free program you can use to convert even from the context menu in Windows Explorer. It supports a lot of output formats and even more input formats.
You can customize the application to add or remove conversion presets in the context menu or edit the existing presets to change conversion options. If your source file is a video, the conversion to an audio format will extract the audio part of the video.
