Create easily virtual drives for any folders, with vSubst

vSubst is a free utility that will create a virtual drive for any folder. You can use the new drive as if it were physical. Virtual drives are removed automatically on Windows-shutdown or are permanent – recreated each time Windows starts.

I recall a similar utility that slowed down the whole system and caused so many problems that I had to uninstall it immediately. vSubst functioned easily and safely.

Features: It creates drive-letters for any folders on your harddisk. Useful to create virtual drives e.g. on laptops. It allows easy removal of all virtual folders.

Limitations: SUBSTed-drives don’t operate 100% in networks, Some copy-protected CD-ROMs check for the physical presence of a disk, Volume-Label is always identical to the host label, vSubst just creates a virtual drive like the old subst-command – nothing more or less
