Write code, even with automatic completion, using Source Edit
Source Edit is a free text editor, especially for developers; it can of course be used as just a regular text editor. It natively supports ASP, PHP, Java, C/C++, C#, Visual Basic, Pascal, Perl, Cold Fusion, SQL, HTML, CSS, XML. It will color all code written in any of these languages. You can also create a new language yourself using the Language Editor.
