Punctuation marks may ruin sort order in MS Word


Let’s say that you try to create this super useful index in Word, but punctuation marks make your life difficult as they keep altering the sort order you expect.

There is nothing you can do about it, but change these index entries in a way that avoids punctuation marks.

For example, when “Salinger Studies” comes above “Salinger, Jerome” because it doesn’t have any punctuation mark, think about removing this comma after Salinger’s name!
