Teach Thunderbird how to recognize and delete Spam mail

Thunderbird is a powerful eMail program, which means that we don’t know all of its functions, even some that we all need to use.

When you receive in your Inbox spam mail that Thunderbird’s filters did not recognize, do not just delete it, but mark it as “Junk”, clicking the relevant icon in the toolbar or going to “Message > Mark” or just pressing the J key.

For this to work, you need first to make sure that in Thunderbird’s Settings you have activated the option “Enable adaptive junk mail controls for this account”.

Adaptive junk mail controls can also be enabled globally, for all accounts, at the program’s “Options > Security > Junk”.
