If you cannot see Android phone files and folders on a Windows PC through USB

The other day I connected my Redmi Note phone to my PC using Windows 10; it started charging, but I couldn’t see any files and folders! What should I do to manage those photos, transfer some nice Wallpapers I had on my PC?

I thought that using the USB I can immediately achieve anything possible through this connection, but it seems that sometimes you have to explicitly define your goal!

Charging can be by default the only task performed when you connect your phone to a PC, but if you drag to see details about your connection you are presented with the option of using the same USB connection for managing files. Selecting this the phone immediately appears on Windows Explorer and you can transfer files to or from your PC.
