Preview odd pages at the right side in Microsoft Word, even page at the left

Especially if you are preparing a publication, needing to preview your document as if you were browsing a real book, you may be annoyed by Word showing odd pages at the left.

You can easily change that by going to the “Page Setup” section of the “Page Layout” tab, then “Margins” > “Custom Margins”.

At the dialogue that opens, select “Apply to” Whole document, then “Multiple pages” Mirror margins.

Leave everything else as it is and go back to preview your document. Odd pages are now previewed at the right side, while nothing is physically changed on your document — if you have equal values to the left and right side margins. The value of your left margin becomes “Inside” marging, and the value of your right margin becomes “Outside” margin. Enjoy!

Being yourself an author or student you will perhaps appreciate especially this feature, that the very structure of the book will teach you how to work.

The book contains even chapters on how to prepare a document for professional publishers such as Amazon.

Reading Steven Adams' Writing a book or thesis in Microsoft Word you are surprised realizing it makes you want to work -- to think, write, use Word and be creative!
