Setup motion detection and video streaming, even snapshots, with Yawcam

Yawcam (Yet Another WebCAM) is a free program for video streaming (with a built-in webserver), motion detection and more. Features: Video streaming * Image snapshots * Built-in webserver * Motion detection * Ftp-upload * Text and image overlays * Password protection * Online announcements for communities * Scheduler for online time * Time lapse movies * Run as a Windows service * Multi languages

Yawcam requires Java Runtime Environment, DirectX and Windows Media Player (the installation file will tell you if you are missing something). Yawcam uses port 8888 for TCP traffic and port 8081 for TCP and UDP traffic.

It is possible to run Yawcam as a Windows service. It will then run invisible in the background and start even before a user logs in to the computer. More info on this if you click “Start -> All programs -> Yawcam -> Service -> Service_Readme.txt” Yawcam works with all DirectX compatible webcams and video capture devices. This means almost all modern usb webcams and TV-cards. It is also possible to use a DV-camera or a network camera together with Yawcam.
