clawPDF is a free virtual printer that lets you print anything as PDF, providing several profiles to ensure compatibility.
The program is open source and intends to becoming a reference PDF printer. Right now it supports PDF/A, PDF/X, PNG, JPEG, TIF and text. Right now you won’t find all those options available in Adobe Acrobat when you create a PDF document, but those provided ensure the creation of quality documents.
Any application able to print can use this printer to produce PDF documents or just images. Resulting files can also be shared attached in email messages or even uploaded through FTP. You can have a default folder to save files, or use a save dialogue starting from the folder you last saved a document.
