Find free and working programs, with Software Search


We need new software and computer solutions all the time – free, if possible. SOFTWARE SEARCH is a search engine configured by TheFreeWindows, which you can add to the search box of your browser, among other search providers you already installed.


First step

To add Software Search to Google Chrome go to Settings > Search Engine > Manage search engines

To add Software Search to Microsoft Edge go to Settings > Privacy, search, and services > Address bar and search > Manage search engines


Second step

Click Add and at the name field write Software Search

At the url field copy and paste:
https://www.thefreewindows.com/search/google.asp?gkw=%s

That’s it! Now you can configure a shortcut to invoke the engine from the address bar of the browser (e.g. you can name it tfw, to be short, then at the address bar, whenever you want to find software, write tfw press the spacebar, select the Software Search Engine, and write your search term!


You can also bookmark the search page.

SOFTWARE SEARCH will not alter any of your system settings, it just places itself as an option along with the rest of your search engines, at the top right corner of your browser, to let you easily search for freeware.
