3D Slicer is a free program that lets you read medical images, supporting DICOM, 4D display, fiducials, custom color maps and more.
The program’s interface is convenient although not that modern and is divided by sections you can enable at will in order for things to remain as simple as possible.

A nice feature of 3D Slicer is that you can open MRML files or export them as XML. The program lets you use several zoom modes according to your particular needs.
3D Slicer was made possible through grants from the US National Institutes of Health (NIH), in order for everyone to be able to visualize and analyze medical image data.
