Cut, filter, encode, convert and merge videos, even with scripting, using Avidemux

Avidemux is a free video editor that will let you cut, filter and encode. It supports the most common video and audio formats. Tasks can be automated using projects, job queue and scripting.
Avidemux is a light utility you can use if you are not interested in complex editing but you only want to “retouch” your videos, cut some scenes, convert them, etc.
Cropping a video means to just select a part and press delete. Its filters let you change frame rate, etc.
Avidemux’ interface is simple and convenient, a nice feature anyway, but in this case indispensable, since the program lacks documentation!
