MiniTool ShadowMaker is a free program that lets you create an image of your system to restore it if for some reason your PC becomes unusable. A commercial edition offers more options, such as scheduled backups, remote PC management, custom backup schemes, etc., but the free one is just fine if you only want to keep system images once in a while to be safe.
The program lets you also mount an image to browse its contents or extract particular files and folders only.
As you would expect from a program like this, it lets you create a bootable CD or flash drive that you can use to restore your system in case you are not able to load Windows.
MiniTool ShadowMaker’s interface is modern and pleasant, and the program works as it promises.
