If you try to change the skin of Windows Media Player and you get this error message, “Windows Media Player encountered a problem with the skin file. The skin file might not be valid”, you may think that the skin is incompatible with Windows Media Player, or is not designed well, etc.

This is not always the case. On the contrary, even official skins coming from Microsoft may give this alert. It’s obviously a bug of WMP install mechanism.

Go to the Skin Chooser of WMP (Library Mode > Top Menu > View) and you will find there available the skin you just downloaded and was supposed to be invalid.

Select, apply and enjoy your new skin!
