For red meat I prefer a steak cooked without oil, sometimes a low–fat part of pork, or calf meat with tomato sauce without much oil, and in all cases whole wheat pasta, or rice.
Chicken or turkey can be made in the exact same ways. I only eat rabbit with red sauce containing or not whole onions.
A tomato salad is great with all of these dishes, along with wine or beer, but of course any salad is fine, without sauces and the like, just olive oil and lemon, if you prefer chicories, or broccoli, or cauliflower; olive oil and oregano, thyme and onion, if your prefer a salad of tomatoes, zucchini, potatoes, etc.
