A crashing Winamp almost always faces a plugin problem. Since the program doesn’t contain thousands of plugins, it’s easy to make it work.

First of all, try to recall if you have installed a plugin recently. If Winamp used to work before that, perhaps this plugin is the cause of your problems.

Open the plugins folder of Winamp, usually at \Program Files (x86)\Winamp\Plugins and locate the DLL file and / or the folder of the plugin you added recently. Restart Winamp and see if it still crashes.

Go on removing recently added plugins until you solve the problem. For instance, Pause&Resume / gen_par.dll and gen_undo.dll may cause conflicts after recent Windows updates. In case you cannot identify any “suspect” plugins, just remove groups of plugins, each time restarting / testing Winamp, until you locate the plugin that causes problems.
