Show or hide instantly the text beside taskbar icons, with Taskbar Labels

A tiny and very useful, absolutely free program, Taskbar Labels lets you instantly turn on or off the text beside the Windows Taskbar icons. Sometimes you may prefer, at least for a while, to see the text beside taskbar icons, e.g., when you use programs that display real time information at their buttons, such as eMule, torrent clients, even a simple Windows copy, etc. In such cases, a keyboard shortcut that would instantly display this text is ideal.

The default (toggle) keyboard shortcut to hide and reveal taskbar labels is Ctrl+F11, but you can change it at will, by right clicking the program’s System Tray icon.

To ensure a trouble-free installation, right-click the setup file and select the option “Run as administrator.” You need also to make sure after the installation is complete, that the program folder and files have write permissions. Finally, to avoid UAC prompts upon startup you can include the program in a whitelist of trusted applications.
