Turn Foobar2000 to a High End player, with WASAPI
May 2010 »WASAPI output support is Component (plugin) for the Foobar2000 Media Player, it adds Windows Audio Session API exclusive mode output support, allowing bit-exact output and muting all other sounds on Windows Vista/7 systems.
An Asio plugin offers similar functionality, but you need also asio drivers, while Wasapi works by itself. A Kernel Streaming plugin for Foobar2000 is also similar, but it did not work on my system, with Windows 7. If you use Vista or Windows 7, Wasapi is the way to go – and it works perfect.
