FormatFactory is a multifunctional media converter, one of the best, I have to admit. It supports conversion between all popular video, audio, and picture formats. It will also repair damaged video and audio files.

It converts video between MP4, 3GP, MPG, AVI, WMV, FLV, SWF…. It converts audio between MP3, WMA, MMF, AMR, OGG, M4A, WAV, AIF…. It converts images between JPG, BMP, PNG, TIF, ICO….

FormatFactory will also rip a DVD to a video file. MP4 files support iPod/iPhone/PSP/BlackBerry format. Source files support RMVB. Other features: Reducing Multimedia file size.  Picture conversion with Zoom, Rotation/Flip, tags.

Some limitations exist unfortunately; e.g. converting to mp3 does not allow variable bit rate! More serious problems exist – take care: Format Factory installs without your permission an Ask toolbar to your browser and also a QuickStores toolbar! While the later (quickstores) is uninstallable, Ask Toolbar won’t even let you uninstall it! You must have a tool like Revo Uninstaller to get rid of that toolbar.

Format Factory has also been reported for malware. Although an efficient program, it is considered dangerous and I won’t host a download here or even links to a download location on a different site.
