Batch edit text files with xMarkup text transformation tool

xMarkup is a free utility that will let you process and transform a set of text files. Changes can be complicated. The program uses a special language, with the help of which any algorithms of text transformations can be implemented. However, such a use is seldom necessary.

In most cases you will only need to define start and stop marks to search for text elements and to describe templates for the transformation of these elements.

You can use xMarkup to generate or edit navigational cross-references within a set of html-documents; analyze and convert the structure and/or content of SGML/XML/HTML documents; edit text files in batch mode; split or merge text files by specified rules; analyse and extract data from text files; generate scripts.

xMarkup for Windows includes a GUI and a console engine written on the Icon Programming Language.
