If you face problems with Microsoft Net Framework 3.5 SP1

Share on Facebook and top Social Networks

There are many people who complain that the setup of MS Net Framework 3.5 SP1 starts – but never ends. Sometimes the installation stalls a little while after it starts, sometimes near the end. The user can do nothing but cancel it – and then the dialogue won’t close, unless it is terminated with the help of Task Manager or with a computer reboot.

Strange as it might seem, you will finally manage to install Net 3.5 SP1, if you disable temporarily your Network Adapter!

Follow these steps.

1) If you are, right now, in the middle of a never-ending setup, cancel it and reboot the computer. Download the Net Framework 3.5 SP1. (You don’t need to rely on Windows Update, since you can download it immediately from Microsoft. If you have done this already, then all the setup files are in your computer and the installer will not download anything from the internet.)

2)  Go to My Computer, right-click and select “Manage”. Then go the “Device Manager” and in the right column click on “Network Adapters”. You will find there your Network Adapter. Right-click on it, and select “Disable”. You will be asked to confirm the command. Do it.

3) Close or disable your antivirus and antispyware programs.

4) Run the MS Net Framework 3.5 SP1 installer. Most probably now you will see it finishing in glory – and pretty fast!

You don’t need to reboot. Just re-enable your network adapter and enjoy!
