Download Equestrian Event Management, for showjumping and dressage competitions
Excellence AwardEquestrian Event Management is a freeware MS Access application for equestrian clubs running showjumping or dressage competitions. It will run with Microsoft Access 2007 Runtime, which is available (free) from Microsoft. The program was written for the Sale and District Showjumping and Dressage Club in Victoria to manage the entries for their annual championship, and the Australian Showjumping Championships held there in April 2006.
The program has been commended for it’s handling of entries and creation of draws, and for the range of reports available to help manage the event. A big feature has been the account settlement process where all charges and prize money are balanced to produce a final amount due or refund/prize payable. It will score standard showjump and dressage events, but will not score teams events.
The implementation of rider accounts to track rider entries, prize money, payments and receipts has proved invaluableĀ when settling accounts with the riders at the end of the show, as everyone has a clear picture of their account and outstanding charges. The program has been further developed to support the dressage competitions as well, mostly to do with the addition of times to the draws, and the manual positioning of riders within a draw required by the dressage club.
Being a Microsoft Access application, the program can be run with multiple computers networked together working on the same data. Commonly, shows are run with two computers connected with an ethernet crossover cable, which can be purchased from any computer store.
