DiamondCS Boot Sector Explorer is a free and very small utility that will help you read and write to the boot sectors of your logical drives and the Master Boot Records (MBRs) of physical drives such as C:, D: etc. It can also examine CD-ROMs, DVDs, USB sticks and more.

Some trojans, worms, viruses, rootkits and various other types of malware are known to modify these sectors; Boot Sector Explorer can keep sector backups, and then be used to restore these backups in case of an infection.

Please note: Writing an invalid sector may prevent your operating system from loading. Do not use the Write feature if you don’t know what you do. Note also that your antivirus utility may give you an alert on BS Explorer.
